Our Story

Nestled in the picturesque Surrey Hills, Albury Vineyard is a family-run organic and biodynamic vineyard established by Nick Wenman. Guided by a passion for sustainable viticulture and the belief in the potential of English wine, Nick planted the first vines in 2009. Focusing on traditional sparkling wine grapes—Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier—the vineyard has flourished, earning numerous accolades for its exceptional quality. Albury’s commitment to sustainability sets it apart as one of England’s leading producers of premium sparkling wines.

Key to Albury’s success is the dedication of its talented team. General Manager Lucy oversees operations alongside Becky, who ensures visitors enjoy memorable experiences. Estate Manager Alex, one of the few female vineyard managers in England, expertly cares for the vines supported by vineyard technician Declan, not forgetting Alex’s beloved dogs—Attila, Ulisee, and Mildred of course.

Situated on the southern slopes of the North Downs, just outside Guildford on the A25 towards Dorking, the vineyard is committed to organic and biodynamic principles. Albury produces award-winning still rosé and sparkling wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Surrey Hills and the passion of a dedicated team.
